About Me

My name is Emily, and I was born and raised in a small town in central Indiana. I attended Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (go Jags!) and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Special Education. After college, I got my first teaching job at a local middle school - teaching 6th grade English/Language Arts. That year quickly solidified my love for a younger age group, so I transferred to an elementary building where I taught as a first grade teacher for another 5 years. I absolutely LOVED my job - being creative & helping others, especially children, made my heart so happy!

I have been married for almost 5 years - my husband’s name is Kent. You can typically find him working on Excel spreadsheets (he's an accountant) or watching sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts & the Indiana Hoosiers. He is a total remote hog through BOTH football and basketball seasons (rolling my eyes).

We welcomed our sweet baby boy, Noah, to this world in August 2020.  He is the joy of our lives, and we are beyond grateful to be his parents. We are also excited to be adding a baby girl to the mix in April 2022. Our lives are quickly going to go from busy to busier & we can't wait!

My hope is to provide you with resources, tips, and even laughs while navigating the chaos that can be wife/motherhood. You never know, I may just be the best “mom friend” you never knew you needed. So happy to have you here!
